Price, Utah resident Carrie Fleck made this analemma by marking the position of the shadow of a clip placed on top a basketball backboard at the same time on several days over a full year.
She was inspired to make the analemma by an article in Sky
& Telescope magazine. The magazine then ran an article on
her project in their May 2004 issue.
